About the Role

We’re seeking an experienced Senior Healthcare Assistant to join our Galway team. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled carer ready to take the next step, combining hands-on care with leadership responsibilities.

Your Role

Direct Care Delivery

• Provide high-quality care to a caseload of clients
• Handle complex care needs and challenging situations
• Model best practice for the team

Leadership and Mentoring

• Support and mentor junior carers
• Conduct shadowing and induction for new staff
• Provide feedback and guidance

Quality Assurance

• Conduct care reviews and reassessments
• Ensure documentation standards are met
• Identify and escalate concerns appropriately

On-Call Support

• Participate in on-call rota (additional payment)
• Respond to out-of-hours queries
• Provide emergency cover when needed

Requirements

Essential

• QQI Level 5 minimum
• 3+ years domiciliary care experience
• Proven ability to handle complex cases
• Strong documentation skills
• Leadership qualities

Desirable

• QQI Level 6 or management qualification
• Specialist training (dementia, palliative, etc.)
• Experience with HSE-funded services
